How Your Partners and Sponsors Can Help Promote Your TapKat Sweepstakes

3 Ways Your Partners and Sponsors Can Help Promote Your TapKat Sweepstakes

Partners and sponsors can be hugely helpful to nonprofits running TapKat sweepstakes. We’ve written previously about how corporate sponsors can help you reach more people and raise more money (read the full article).

Today we’ll look at some things your partners and sponsors can do to help get the word out for your sweepstakes.

Your Partners Can Send a Dedicated Email to Their Base

When it comes to fundraising, email is still the most effective tool for bringing in donations. More than any other form of outreach to donors (and potential new donors), when they receive a dedicated email about your fundraiser in their inbox, they’re most likely to donate.

“Dedicated” is the key. A dedicated email (or e-blast) is one in which your sweepstakes is the only topic or link in the mailing. A mention in a newsletter is much less effective, especially if it’s buried at the bottom under an avalanche of news, requests, and information.

If you have partners or sponsors that are willing to send a dedicated email to their base promoting your nonprofit, you’re in good shape. That’s a really big deal and will be tremendously helpful.

The email should:

  • Clearly state the opportunity to win a great prize (especially in the subject line!)

  • Feature big, beautiful images of the prize.

  • Link back to your sweepstakes site many times!

  • Include a promo code so you can track how the promotion does.

Your Partners Can Post on Social Media

Posting on social media is another great way for your partners to support the sweepstakes. Social media can be an important piece of the puzzle!

At this point, video is the strongest way to communicate on social media. Make sure that any video they share has captions so someone can understand what the video is promoting even if they’re scrolling through their social media feed without the sound on.

Any video or image post your partners share on social media is great! Make sure to include the basics, like:

  • A link back to your sweepstakes site.

  • A great photo of your prize.

  • A note informing the reader that the sweepstakes will benefit a good cause.

  • A promo code.

Your Partners Can Share Your TapKat Sweepstakes on Their Website

Many corporations and businesses get a a lot of traffic on their website. Take advantage of that by asking your partners and sponsors to add a mention of your sweepstakes on their homepage.

This is good for them because it demonstrates that they’re giving back to the community by supporting a nonprofit, and it’s good for you because it helps spread the word!

Include great photos, a call to action (like, “Enter to win!”) and links back to your sweepstakes site.

Your Partners Can Post Flyers, Postcards, and Posters in Their Brick-and-Mortar

Not all partners will have a brick-and-mortar location, but for those that do, ask them to put up signage, posters, flyers, and to pass out postcards. Make sure that you provide the signage (unless they’re so gung-ho that they want to offer that, which is great!)

Each physical promotional asset should include a promo code with a QR code printed on it. This way, readers can easily use their smart device to scan the code and get directed to your sweepstakes site.

When you create a promo code in your TapKat dashboard, our system will automatically create a corresponding QR code. It’s easy to download this code and add it to your printed materials.

Remember: including promo codes and QR codes is important because it will help you track how each promotion is doing. You’ll learn a lot from these codes! When you go back and look at all the marketing outreach you’ve done, you’ll be able to tell which efforts were the most effective. Say you discover that a certain Facebook post is doing really well, but others aren’t. You can model future posts after the successful one and build on your momentum.
